CNC Machinist
- Full time based at Calder Vale Road, Wakefield, West Yorkshire
- 37 hours a week
- 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday
- 8 am to 1 pm, Friday
We are looking for a CNC Machinist to join our expanding team.
MAIN FUNCTION & SCOPE OF THE JOB:
Responsible to the Manufacturing Manager, the purpose of the role is to successfully run CNC/Manual machines within a heavy engineering environment.
MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Ensure machining operations and processes are effectively carried out by the approved manufacturing route and quality standards.
- Actively pursue continuous improvements in assembly methods and techniques and make recommendations for implementation when appropriate.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment is adequately maintained and regularly checked for lubrication.
- Take care of measuring equipment and report on any defective, or out-of-calibration items.
- Ensure all lifting and transportation equipment is used appropriately.

Qualifications
- Apprentice trained mechanical engineer (E)
Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to use manual measuring equipment (E)
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and geometrical tolerances (E)
- Knowledge of CNC programming (E)
Experience
- Experience working with a horizontal machining centre and Fanuc control (E)
- Experience of working with Heidenhain controls (D)
- Experience of working within the heavy engineering industry (D)
