2021/2022 has continued to be a challenging time for the manufacturing sector however, despite the pandemic, sales for the Atkin Automation division of Group Rhodes have been strong again this year.
We have successfully completed the installation of a repeat order of a special purpose Atkin-designed machine to a major US-owned group based in Scotland, which will be used in the manufacture of drive train parts for sporting and leisure equipment.
We have also manufactured and installed a number of Servo Roll feed systems. This includes recently completing work on an 800mm-wide non-marking Servo Roll feed for a French metal packaging company which will now be their fourth unit from Atkin Automation.
Atkin Automation has also recently received further orders for two Servo Roll feeds for a North West company, a RFC 100-300mm wide heavy duty unit and a RF70-100mm wide unit both complete with multi-pitch and tool gag functions to enable complex punched components to be produced for construction metalwork.
We have also won an order to supply a 1.5 tonne x 300mm powered uncoiler with integral snubber arm to enable the safe handling of high strength steel used for industrial bandsaw blades.
In addition, our production team are working on the manufacture of other smaller decoilers for the manufacture of both electrical components and craft knife blades.
With a number of promising sales enquiries in the pipeline, the year ahead looks very positive for Atkin Automation and we expect to see the continued growth of the division in the year ahead.
Geoff Barker, Sales Manager for Atkin Automation, explains: “It has been a very busy twelve month period and it is great to see so many customers returning to us with new equipment orders.”
