Group Rhodes team wins MTA Golf competition
After a year off due to the lockdown, the MTA (Manufacturing Technologies Association) golf competition was back at Leicestershire Golf Club and the Group Rhodes team was back to defend its title.
And perform they did!
Our team consisting of Operations Director and team captain, James Gascoigne, Glynn Dixon, Dave Knight and Jon Schofield, who faced strong competition but managed to retain the trophy on count back of the back nine holes (a technical term used for stableford rules of golf), with a score of 86 points.
Jon Schofield also won prizes for the highest individual score of the day and ‘nearest the pin’ on a short par three hole.
Mark Ridgway, CEO of Group Rhodes, said: “It is fantastic to have the MTA Gold Competition trophy back in pride of place in our reception for a further 12 months. Well done team and to all who took part.”
James Fudge, Head of Operations for the MTA said “It was great to see Members back at our first face-to-face event post COVID. Networking events are key to our membership both for MTA and EIA Members and seeing people together at this event is a great sign for the future months as well as MACH 2022 next April. Special congratulations go to Group Rhodes who managed to defend their title and take home the winning trophy again.”
