Group Rhodes accompany Prime Minister on Indian Trade Mission
Group Rhodes Managing Director, Mark Ridgway OBE, DL is taking part in a trade delegation to India which is being led by Prime Minister David Cameron.
The trade mission aims to show the “best of British” and generate new orders for firms like Group Rhodes, which is one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of special purpose machinery for advanced applications in metalforming, heavy ceramics, composites, environmental and deep-sea oil and gas sectors
Trade and Investment Minister Lord Green said,
“We are on track to double our trade with India by 2015. India has the potential to become one of the largest markets in the world. Group Rhodes are rightly recognising that they can reap the rewards of looking outside Europe for trading partners, selling goods and services to high growth markets outside the EU.
“Government is clear that we must build deeper ties with India. This means supporting and encouraging a range of companies, both large and small, to do business there in the future, and I am delighted that Group Rhodes are part of the delegation for this trip.”
Group Rhodes announced in January that the company had beaten stiff competition from European competitors to win two orders from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Kanpur, (India) worth over £2 million. The order has crystallised the company’s decision to establish a new automation division in Manchester generating eleven new positions.”
Group Rhodes Managing Director, Mark Ridgway OBE DL, commented “with respect to our Indian expansion plans, the Company is in the final stages of negotiation with Meu Engineering of Bangalore to establish a joint venture to service the aerospace and heavy ceramics market sectors in India. Work has already started on the new headquarters south of the city.”
