Back in 2019, Craven Fawcett became the UK distributor for Teide Refractory Solutions of Spain, a leading supplier of refractory materials to the global ceramics industry.

Teide Refractory Solutions recently received some great feedback on the ongoing performance of two of its innovative solutions for Ibstock, the UK's leading brickmaker and supplier of brick products, that it delivered over the past few years.

The latest project, completed in 2019, involved the design, manufacture and installation of 42 kiln cars for Ibstock’s Laybrook plant in Southern England.  The cars required a robust design and 1,200 tonnes of material to be shipped to the site.

Ibstock Laybrook’s Technical Manager Tom Fairweather explains: “The kiln car refractories on this project are fantastic.  They have been used in full production for two years with no issues. Teide offer great quality and reliability.”

The earlier project, completed in 2015, involved the design, manufacture and supply of 8,000 Draught Hole Blocks to Ibstock’s Aldridge plant near Birmingham. 

Ibstock Aldridge’s Technical Manager Chris Mason said: “We have been using Teide draught hole blocks for seven years.  The quality is exceptional and there has never been any need to order any replacement pieces. Since the initial order, we have had minimum breakages – an excellent product.”
